Christianity Explored

You may have no previous experience of Christianity or churches. You may hardly ever have set foot inside a church.

But whatever your situation, the Christianity Explored course is an opportunity to take a closer look at the claims of Jesus, the person at the very heart of Christianity.

Where?

Regular courses are held in one of the St Helen's church buildings. and in various other locations around London.

When?

Sunday Morning (coffee and pastries) and Midweek Evening (a hot meal) courses run for three sessions (ie once a week for three) weeks, and the weekday lunchtime courses (sandwich lunch) run once a week for seven weeks.

What?

Every week there is a short talk on a different aspect of Christianity with discussion and questions afterwards.

We focus on the real Jesus: who he is and what he achieved in his life and death. We ask why this matters and what it means to be a Christian today. There is no charge for attending and you can also take away and read for yourself one of the Bible's accounts of the life of Jesus.

There is also a day 'away' towards the end of most of the courses. This is held at someone's house somewhere fairly central. This will provide an opportunity to discuss issues and questions over a longer period of time. Like the rest of the course we try to keep this as relaxed as possible and there is no singing, praying or reading out loud.
