Ambitious for glory

Many Eastern thinkers view history as circular - we're just going round and round. Much Western thinking sees history as random - there is no rhyme or reason. Christians believe that history is linear. We have come from somewhere, creation; we are going to somewhere, judgement. This Christian conviction concerning the future governs everything about the mature Christian in the present. In a world who thinks that we are all adrift, it presents a beautiful and radical alternative view. And this Christian reality is rooted in the facts of history - the physical resurrection of Jesus from the grave.
