The creativity and ingenuity of humanity appears to know no bounds. In just the last 70 years advances have been made in technology, agriculture, medicine and culture that would have been unimaginable to our forbears. And yet the world remains beset by problems. Genesis 4 anticipates human progress with its description of Cain’s family. However, Cain’s family is a microcosm not only of the technical prowess, but also the moral failure of man. There is a problem in humanity that lies beyond all our progress.
