The parable of the shrewd manager is one of the most perplexing of all Jesus’ parables. It is about how disciples use their money. The point of the parable is to challenge whether our wallets are lined up with God’s agenda. We rejoice, in the previous chapter, that the Father seeks and saves the lost, but do we really share his joy? Our bank statement will show us.
