Psalm 23:1-6

The good shepherd

This familiar psalm is not primarily about us and our faith. It's about Jesus Christ, the good shepherd. The images of host and shepherd are not disparate, but parallel, since both provide and protect. The psalm's serenity is unsentimental, for it is experienced in the face of evil and enemies.
