Breaching the dam

The same people Stephen gave his famous speech to, conspired to have Jesus crucified. Faced with Stephen’s evidence that Jesus was the very one to whom God had borne witness, they took his life too and he became the first Christian martyr. In the longest of all the speeches in Acts, Stephen demonstrates Jesus is the culmination of God’s plans for the rescue of his people. But the speech also asks searching questions of all who hear it.
