Paul writes to his friend Philemon asking him to welcome Onesimus into his church. However, Onesimus is Philemon's slave. He has been helping Paul in prison for a while and become a Christian. Now Paul thinks he should return and asks Philemon to treat him as he would treat Paul. The letter is short and straightforward, but radically subversive for its time.
