The announcement—as it was made

As Mary laid her newborn in the manger, an observer might have thought that the scene was ordinary, unspectacular, low-key. But Luke chapter 2 pulls the veil back to show us that the arrival of this child is nothing less than the decisive, and transformative arrival of heaven on earth.
