The rule of King Jesus stretches beyond racial boundaries and transcends cultural and religious structures. He is Lord of all. In this section of Acts we find ourselves at the point when Jesus’ reign bursts out of the historic confines of Israel’s land, religion and people. It is a key moment in history. Luke, the author of Acts, shows us that this is God’s work, that it happens through the preaching of God’s word, and that God’s people have a part to play in it.
