What does it mean to say the gospel is ‘good news’? As Luke continues his introduction to the life of Jesus, he interrupts the narrative with Mary’s famous song of praise to God. Her profoundly significant words remind us that the gospel is about God’s favour towards us, and they help us to share her joy.
