The voice of one crying

Are you ready? When someone important is coming, you need to get ready. John the Baptist prepares the way for the Lord's arrival by proclaiming a message of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. This is the gospel. Luke includes this passage early in his book to define the gospel for us. We as God's people should bear fruit in keeping with repentance and know that the preaching of this message will divide people: repentant or unrepentant.
