Luke 3:21-38

The long-awaited son

How do we know Jesus is qualified to be the saviour of the world? Given the severity and scale of the problem of sin, it matters that we are totally confident that Jesus is qualified to save us. Luke 3 gives us confidence that Jesus is qualified to save the world in two main ways. First, we see Jesus is the saviour promised by the Old Testament, authorised by God the Father. And second, we see how Jesus' ancestry and birth mean he is able to deal with the sin problem caused by Adam.
